It's always the little things which leap out and grab me with excitement. Recently we had the pop/flash as people land on grid from warp. Not only does this add a little aural situational awareness it also looks really sci-fi cool. So on Sisi we have this new cloaking animation. It will make absolutely no difference to any mechanic in the game but oh my god does it look sexy! I can has now plz?
Totally unrealistic in sight of anything we currently know about force fields - but cool.

I hope the vid is just slowed down... This effect seems really slow.
ReplyDeleteIf I'm decloacking, when am I getting targetable? When the animation starts or when it stops? When am I appearing on the overview? At start or at the end? When is the decloak-targetting-timer start to count down?
If I am going to cloak up, when am I getting untargetable? When am I disappearing from the overview?
Those 4 second in the vid is a reaaally long time.
Currently the cloaking/decloaking animation takes a few seconds too. As soon as you press the cloak button you are not lockable even though you can be seen in space and still appear on the overview. As soon as you press the button again to decloak you appear on the overview and are lockable even though the decloak animation is still running.
